The best eSIM for travel in 2026 is the plan whose countries, data, and phone rules match the trip you are taking. It is not one brand for every traveler. The logos below are the providers’ own marks. The notes describe the kind of plan each one sells. This page does not publish prices, star ratings, or personal test results.

What “best” means
- The country list includes every place where you need data, including a layover if you will leave the airport.
- The data allowance and the number of days cover the days you will actually be online.
- Hotspot, fair-use speed, and top-ups are stated on that plan.
- You know whether you still need your home number for calls, texts, or bank codes.
- The phone is unlocked and supports eSIM. A plan cannot add that.
Provider details

Saily
Saily is a travel eSIM app from the company behind Nord Security. Its site lists country, regional, and global data plans, plus an unlimited-style Ultra plan. A US phone number is sold separately and is not included with every data plan.
Sim Local
Sim Local sells travel eSIMs and physical SIM options for individual countries and for regions. If you specifically need a digital plan, confirm you are buying an eSIM and that your phone can install it.
Holafly
Holafly is known for travel eSIMs marketed as unlimited data. Unlimited plans usually slow down after a daily high-speed allowance. Read that fair-use line, and check whether hotspot use is included, before treating the plan as unlimited.
Roamless
Roamless offers prepaid data and a pay-as-you-go style balance that can be used across supported countries. Confirm that every country on your route is included, and how unused credit is handled, on the plan page.

Globe eSIM
Globe eSIM sells prepaid travel data plans by country and by region. You pay once and receive installation details by email, usually a QR code. On a dual-SIM phone you can keep your home number while this plan carries mobile data. Confirm the data allowance, validity, and country list on the plan you open.

Airalo
Airalo sells local, regional, and global data eSIMs through its own app and website. Plans are listed by destination, so the useful check is whether your exact countries, data amount, and validity dates are on the plan you open.

Nomad
Nomad lists travel eSIM plans by country and by region. Compare the data allowance and the number of days with the length of the trip, and check hotspot rules on that plan rather than assuming they match another provider.
Comparison table
This table compares plan style. It leaves out prices on purpose, because the amount you pay depends on the destination and the package you select.
| Provider | Plan style | Phone number | Confirm on the plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saily | Fixed data, plus an unlimited-style plan | A US number is a separate add-on | Plan type, countries, and when validity starts |
| Sim Local | Country and regional eSIM or physical SIM | Depends on the product | That the product is an eSIM |
| Holafly | Often sold as unlimited data for a set number of days | Treat it as data unless the plan says otherwise | Daily fair-use speed and hotspot |
| Roamless | Prepaid balance and pay-as-you-go data | A phone number is not part of a typical data balance | Every stop on the route |
| Globe eSIM | Country and regional prepaid data | Home number stays on your own SIM where dual SIM is supported | Allowance, validity, and destination list |
| Airalo | Fixed packages for one country, a region, or wider | Most plans are data only | Destination list, data size, and validity |
| Nomad | Country and regional packages with a set allowance | Data only unless the plan says otherwise | Allowance, days, and top-up rules |
How to choose for your trip
- List the countries, in order, and the number of days in each.
- Check that the phone is unlocked and can install an eSIM.
- Open two or three providers and search for those countries. A regional plan is only useful if every stop is on its list.
- Read data, days, fair-use speed, hotspot, and whether a top-up exists.
- Install on Wi-Fi before you travel if the provider says the profile can be installed early. Note when the validity clock starts.
- Keep your home line available for verification texts unless you have another way to receive them.
