1. Introduction and Scope
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit travellifeadventures.com (the “website”), how it is used, and the choices you have. The website is operated by the operator of Travel Life Adventures (“we”, “us”).
It covers the public pages of the website, including its contact and newsletter forms. It does not cover other websites you reach through links on this site.
2. Information You Submit Through the Contact Form
When you send a message through the Contact page, we collect the name, email address, subject, inquiry category, and message you enter. We use this information to read your message, reply to it, and act on corrections or requests.
Messages are stored in the website's database on our server and can be read only by people with access to the website's administration area. Messages are not currently forwarded to an outside email or helpdesk service. If that changes, this policy will name the service.
To limit spam, the form uses a hidden field, a minimum completion time, and a limit on how many messages can be sent from one connection per hour. For that limit, we keep a one-way, salted hash of your IP address with the time of submission. It is not stored with your message. Hashed entries older than 24 hours are removed automatically the next time the form is used.
3. Technical Information Processed When You Visit
Like most websites, our server records basic technical information for each request:
- your IP address;
- the date and time of the request;
- the page or file requested and the response status;
- the referring page, if your browser sends it;
- your browser and device type (the user agent).
These records are used to keep the website running, diagnose errors, and protect it against abuse. They are not used to build profiles of visitors.
The website's fonts and images are served from our own server, so viewing a page does not send requests to font or image services.
5. Analytics
The website does not currently use an analytics service. If one is added, this policy will be updated to describe it before it is used.
7. Affiliate Links and External Websites
The website does not currently use affiliate links. If they are introduced, following one will pass through our website first, and we will record which link was used, the time, and the page you came from, so that we can count clicks. We will not record your IP address or set a cookie for this.
Links to other websites take you to another company's website. Booking sites, eSIM providers, insurers, and other external websites have their own privacy policies and may use their own cookies and tracking, including to attribute a commission. Please read their policies before sharing information with them. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.
8. Hosting, Security, and Service Providers
We rely on these kinds of service providers to run the website:
- Hosting: the website and its database run on a rented virtual server. The hosting provider stores this data on our behalf.
- Cloudflare: traffic passes through Cloudflare's network for performance and security, so Cloudflare processes request information such as IP addresses.
We do not sell contact form messages or give them to advertisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the website and its users against fraud or abuse.
9. Data Retention
- Contact messages are kept until they are deleted in the administration area. There is currently no automatic deletion period. If you ask us to delete your message, we will delete it.
- Hashed IP entries used to limit form spam are removed after about 24 hours, when the form is next used.
- Web server logs are rotated daily and kept for about 14 days.
- Application error logs are kept for up to 7 days.
- Affiliate click records (link, time, and referring page) are kept to count clicks and contain no IP address.
- Information held by Cloudflare or other providers is retained under their own policies.
10. Data Security
The website is served over HTTPS. The administration area requires a password, uses signed-in sessions, and limits repeated failed logins. No website or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect the information we hold.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. These can include the right to access it, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its use, or receive a copy of it.
To make a request, contact us through the Contact page (choose “General Inquiries” and mention “Privacy request” in the subject). We may need to confirm that a request comes from you, for example by replying to the email address that sent a contact message. We can find contact messages by email address. Server log entries cannot be linked to a person unless you provide the IP address and the time of your visit.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
12. Children's Privacy
The website is a general travel publication and is not directed at children. Its forms are not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. International Data Transfers
Our server and service providers may be located in a different country from yours, and Cloudflare operates a global network. Information you send or that is collected when you visit may therefore be processed outside your country, where data protection laws may differ.
14. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy when the website's practices change, for example when a new service is connected. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
15. Contact for Privacy Questions
For privacy questions or requests, contact the operator of Travel Life Adventures through the Contact page (choose “General Inquiries” and mention “Privacy request” in the subject).
